i did book binding before too. tiring. esp the stitching up of the pages tgt...

I actually always enjoyed that part. What freaked me out most was putting on the cover. One time I mis-measured and the cover wound up a quarter inch shorter than the actual book on the front edge. Oh, such cursing as you have never seen.
